Why Soy Wax?

Because you wouldn't run a car engine in your living room. Paraffin wax—which is the main wax of most traditional candles—is a by-product of refining petroleum into gasoline. The black, sooty smoke that stains the containers of our competitors' candles is not unlike the black smoke seen spewing from the tailpipe of a poorly tuned automobile. That smoke is full of toxins and is about as healthy as second-hand cigarette smoke. Now is that any way to make a house a home?

Wholesome goodness: Simply Glowing candles are made from 100% all-natural food-grade soybean oil. Other candles are made from crude oil fit for your lawn mower, our candles are made from vegetable oil fit for your body. Hydrogenated soybean oil is the same product used in pizza dough and biscuits.

A safe burning candle: When burning, Simply Glowing soy candles will not emit the soot proven to be harmful both to home interiors and humans and the candles are non-toxic and non-carcinogenic. The low melting point of our soy wax also produces a cooler burning candle, which is much safer for the kiddos.

Burns to the edge: Because of the low melting point Simply Glowing candles liquefy as much as a ½” down while burning. This allows for little to no waste along the sides of the jar and more evidence of a clean burn. Simply Glowing won't “tunnel” like pillar and paraffin wax candles (For optimal results burn for 2 hours or more per light).

Lead free wicks: We use high temperature, lead free, paper wicks that disseminate soybean oil very effectively but should be trimmed every couple of hours for best results.

Washable: Simply Glowing
candles are water-soluble and our hot wax will wash out of fabrics much like any food product would. For best results use hot sudsy water.

Renewable resource: Soybeans are renewable and 100% biodegradable not to mention grown in our very own US of A. Simply Glowing is proud to support and promote American soybean producers.

Remember, you are burning a candle! Please take caution: Failure to follow instructions could result in fire, hazard, or injury. Keep wax free of matches, wick trimmings, or any flammable materials. Keep wick centered and trimmed to 1/8" to ensure even burning and prevent flame from becoming too large. Burn only on a stable heat resistant surface for no more than 4 hours at a time. Keep out of drafts. Discontinue use when only 1/2" of wax remains in bottom of container. Do not move while burning or if wax is hot. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended!
